MacOS, Adobe and SMB
We use Active Directory for authentication/access control. SMB share, NTFS permissions - you know, a regular file server.
But the vile cocktail of the 3 ingredients found in the title of this post produces a result that is very far from optimal for some of our users - the latest report is that in some cases, a folder's contents become hidden until the folder is re-named. (Also, sometimes, a folder becomes inaccessible until it or its root folder, is re-mapped. And of course, the old "it's very slow" - even though it has not appeared slow every time I looked at it)
I already know that Adobe recommends one works on media files locally, and save to network folder when done, and users have been dutifully made aware of this as well, but that doesn't seem to change their behavior/practice of using the network drive like they would a local drive.
If anyone has any tips or tricks (maybe there is some configuration that I am obviously missing) in this situation, I would appreciate any input.
