InsightIQ 5.2 Simple Install Fails at stage 2
I have been tasked with replacing InsightIQ 4.4 to enable us to upgrade the Powerscale cluster OneFS version from 9.5 to 9.10.
I see that the recommended version is 5.2
https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-uk/000205512/target-revisions-and-runtime#Insight_IQ
Before trying the install on a live environment I tried to install in our Lab facility under Vsphere 8.0.3 but the install fails every time after restarting the network service with a repeated message saying Could not establish a self SSH connection. When I look at the IP address using ip addr show it seems that the network configuration wasn't saved but there's nothing in the install log to show why

Hello paf23,
Have you tried to set the IP address and then use the redeploy command to see if you are still getting the same issue?

@DELL-Sam L Hi - thanks for responding. How can I set the IP address? I think it needs root access?

Hello paf23,
Are you using the install guide for 5.2, If not here is a link to the guide which states where you need to add your ipaddress.

@DELL-Sam L Hi Sam. Yes I followed the install guide. It just doesn't seem to update the network config for eth0, although I can't prove that because the administrator ID isn't authorised to look at the interface config at /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0 and I don't have root access and sudo doesn't work

You may need to upgrade powerscale first before insightiq, that is the recommended order.

@DELL-Josh Cr I was working from the OneFS Upgrade Process and Planning guide where it says
Install a supported version of DataIQ or InsightIQ
Before you upgrade OneFS, confirm the version of InsightIQ that you are running is compatible with the target version of OneFS to which you are upgrading. If the versions are not compatible, upgrade InsightIQ before upgrading OneFS.
I think I am going to have to just attempt the InsightIQ install on the live customer environment (Lab environments are never quite the same) and raise a support case if it fails there too. Once I have the new InsightIQ instance up and running, I can attempt the database migration (I don't think they have a massive database fortunately, it's a relatively new 4 node Powerscale cluster being managed). Once that is all complete then I can schedule the OneFS upgrade
