InsightIQ 5.1 System Requirements are disproportionate

We run a single cluster with just 8 nodes. Our current InsightIQ 4.4.1 is running on a CentOS 7 VM with 8GB RAM, 2 vCPUs and 150GB of disk (that's not the appliance version, it is the install-from-script version). That is just fine to keep several years' of historic data.

We were looking to upgrade from OneFS 9.4 to 9.7 next week, but 9.7 is not compatible with InsightIQ 4.x. The system requirements for InsightIQ 5 'simple' is that we buy a server, install VMware ESXi and have enough disk for a 1.5TB thin provisioned disk and a VM with 12 vCPUs and 32GB RAM. That's a big bill for a single VM. To use a non-appliance VM it has to be the 'scale' version which needs three RHEL VMs each with 12 vCPU, 32GB RAM etc.

In the short term we can go to 9.5 rather than 9.7 next week, but does anyone know a way to run InsightIQ 5.x for a small site that does not use VMware?

...and please don't point me to the documentation, I already read it :-)

@WilliamDLB,my IIQ 4.3 could see OneFS 9.7.1 cluster, so I think you be ok with IIQ 4.4 and OneFS 9.7.x

I'm wondering that are all performance reporting dashboard are visible?

We tried to install below InsightIQ and register H700 with below version.

Registration of Isilon storage was success but CPU Utilization and disk utilization dashboard were not visible with error message "The version of OneFS operating on this cluster does not support this type of data."

- OneFS version : 9.7.1.2

- InsightIQ version : 4.4.1
