how to associate a (\\SERVERNAME) with an /ifs/dirname/folder

Hello

I have a path created on a H400 in a naming convention suitable to us Isilon admins. I need to associate it with a UNC path so that end users can simply enter their  \\servrname and access the file /ifs/dirname/"filenametheyneedtoaccesss"

please advise

kind regards...

\\servrname\ should point to /ifs/dirname(of share)

This is how I accomplished the task: Assumption: file is copied, share is all good/visble. final incremental copy has been performed. Host accesson VNX suide is suspended. We just need to move Cifs server name from VNX to Isilon.

1. Unjoin VNX CIFS server from domain
2. Confirm CIFS server name is not in DNS and AD
3. Remove IP interface from VNX -
4. Create DNS delegation for CIFS server in DNS < cifsservername> delegated to  ArrayName-ssip.FQDN

5. Add SmartAlias for CIFS server name
