H500 reformat problem
Hello,
I have an Isilon H500 that I use for demo purposes. On one of the nodes, I was receiving an "IFS mount failed" error. I tried both reformat and reimage methods.
When I start the reformat process, the drives begin formatting, but the node reboots during the operation. I can see that most of the drives reach 100%, but some of them do not fully complete.
Afterward, during the boot process, I receive the warning below and the boot is aborted.
"Test Journal exited with error - Checking Battery Health... Battery 1 is unhealthy. Check that the batteries are fully charged, then reboot. If the batteries are fully charged and not healthy contact EMC Customer Support for replacements. To prevent a DL situation, contact Dell EMC Customer Support immediately:"
I am aware that the battery is in a degraded state. Is there any way to ignore this condition?
When I try the reimage process, I receive a “Missing boot loader” warning.
Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Hello Murat INLI,
It is best to replace the whole kit instead of just the battery. If you proceed with the install you will run into issues and in most cases that I have seen the reimage doesn’t complete. You need to have healthy battery life for the reimage to complete successfully.

Hello Murat INLI,
You need to have non-degraded batteries in order for you to complete a reimage. If you don’t have batteries that are in need of replacement then this is one error that you can receive. Once you have replaced the batteries then your reimage should move forward and complete.

@DELL-Sam L Hello Sam,
First of all, thank you for your response. Would replacing only the battery be sufficient? Because when another node had a battery issue, replacing it with a new battery did not resolve the problem. Do I need to replace it with a new riser kit instead?
If I continue with the reimage process, would the battery in this condition cause any issues again?
