EMcopy errors: Unable to set SD?

Hi

I'm migrating data from an windows 2008 VM to lsilon (v7.1.1.2) via EMcopy with the following command and switches:

emcopy64.exe   /c /de /purge /o /s /sdd /secfix /r:1 /w:1 /log:c:\ISI_LOG\isilog.log

the copy is going just fine but i can't figure out how to overcome these SD errors... Are these errors going to cause problems?

From the Log:

TH000 : 10:57:42 : WARNING : Unable to retrieve the PDC of the domain EAGLEINVSYS nearby \\ , error : 1717

TH000 : 10:57:42 : WARNING : The default primary group is set to "domain users"

TH001 : 10:57:42 : ERROR (5) : I:\EAGLE\12_0_1\ -> Unable to set SD

TH003 : 10:57:42 : ERROR (5) : I:\EAGLE\12_0_1\WIN\ -> Unable to set SD

TH002 : 10:57:42 : ERROR (5) : I:\EAGLE\12_0_1\LIN\ -> Unable to set SD

TH006 : 10:57:42 : ERROR (5) : I:\EAGLE\12_0_1\LIN\dynamic\ -> Unable to set SD

Thanks

I had an obvious permissions problem.  I logged into the win2k8 server as a root user on the filesystem and all my permissions errors are now corrected.  thanks anyway

Hey I notice that not all files come back with the error.  What does that mean?

Hi Gabe,

sorry for my ignorance, but how are you logging in as root on the source?  I assume you mean you are logging in as administrator account, yes?

So, I'm missing some foundational piece of understanding here as I have a "Migration host" that is performing the move.  I map the network shares, using my admin acct to make the connection - yet, I still get the Unable to set SD errors (like you, not all gave me this, but just certain ones).  An example:

TH053 : 18:06:14 : ERROR (5) : X:\data\groups\cambridge\users\cyjohnson\~$riposa_Capital_Lapse_Ltr.doc -> Unable to set SD

Note that the X drive is my Isilon (I assume your I drive was your Isilon as well?).

Where are you "logging into the Win2k8 server as root (I assume you mean admin)" such that it resolves the ability to move the ACLs (which is what i assume is failing here)?

thank you!!

Juice,

Too much time spent working with Linux. I did intend to say that I needed administrator privileges on the windows server.
