[Edge Gateway 5000] cannot secure erase internal storage
I want so secure erase the internal storage on a few Dell Edge Gateway 5000 devices. All these Edge Gateways have LiteOn J8-L1064-11 M.2 2260 64 GB drives. They are running the latest BIOS update, from december 2024. It seems there are no firmware updates for the LiteOn M.2 drives.
When trying to secure erase these drives from the UEFI BIOS (with 'Security → Master Password Lockout' disabled, obviously) the process fails and BIOS logs an 'Undefined event code 0x038081EA' error in 'System Logs → BIOS Events'.
There is no obvious way to suspend these devices from GParted Live or Ubuntu, so I cannot unfreeze these drives and follow an alternative route to wipe them using either hdparm or nvme commands. I prefer not removing these drives to power cycle them, if there is a way to suspend those IoT gateways.
Thanks!

I must add, these Edge Gateways are running BIOS release 1.30.00, from december 16th. Have not tried a secure erase on previous BIOS versions.
