I have a Dell laptop like brand new. Hardly used...unfortunately it's 7 years old. I phoned Radio Shack if they could do an upgrade to Windows 11, they claimed it's too old. I don't know..can anyone tell me.

depends on the cpu spec. if it says 8### somewhere such as i7-8550 then it is eligible. if it is below 8 such as i5-6300 or 7300 then not official but you can still install Win 11 from clean. clean install is always better than upgrade from with 10, although you will lose all old apps.

Please can you confirm the Make Model and OS, along with any configuration details like touch screen, backlit keyboard, SFF or tower etc etc.

Also if you are going to move to W11, I would use RUFUS to create the necessary USB, or the MS way...

7 years old it would be 2018band 8th generation. Can you give the model # of the system?
