WiFI auto connect is delayed
On my 3501 note book, after booting or restarting, until a couple of days ago, it would auto connect to my modem as soon as the Windows Desktop was displayed. Now there is a 40 second delay after the desktop is displayed before it connects to my wifi. There is a globe looking icon in the taskbar for the first 40 seconds, then it changes to the Internet Access icon. What happened?

Well you can try the following:
Turn OFF Power Saving for Wi-Fi
nable Auto-Connect Properly
Update or Reinstall Wi-Fi Driver
Disable Fast Startup
Set Wi-Fi Service to Automatic

Thanks for the reply. Those sound like things I've already tried:
Device Manager - Network Adapter, Intel Wireless and Realtek PCI FE Controler -unchecked Allow computer to turn off this device. The listed WAN entries don't have power management.
My WiFi is auto connect
WLAN service is automatic
Disabled/enabled then uninstalled and reinstalled drivers
Don't have Fast Startup because I don't have Hibernate.
One other thing I noticed... It's not as if my connection is delayed, There are no nearby wi-fis shown when clicking on the systray globe icon. It is black until it changes to the wi-fi icon. It is if it had not started to look for nearby wifi yet.
Also, the only update to come in around that time was Dell-Power-Manager-Service. I uninstalled it, but that didn't help either.
