Which storage devices are best for upgrading a Dell laptop?

I'm planning to upgrade the storage on my Dell laptop and wanted some advice. Which storage devices would you recommend for better performance and reliability? I'm considering SSDs but not sure what works best with Dell systems. Any insights on compatibility, speed, or trusted brands?

Does this laptop have an M.2 slot available for an NVME drive? Or is it SATA only?

Samsung, WD, or Crucial is fine. Dell has their own drive, but the brand doesn't matter for this purpose. Should be available on Amazon or if you prefer to buy in person at BB. I recommend getting only 1 or 2 TB drive. Having a more expensive drive fail is never worth the money.

If it is an NVME drive, verify you have the driver available when installing Windows 11 on it. Sometimes the drive will not be recognized by the installer. Usually the drive manufacturer has a driver, or you might need the Intel RST driver to recognize your newly installed drive. Good luck.
