Very distorted sound on Inspiron 15 3520
Occasionally, the sound on my Inspiron 15 3520 is very loud and very distorted. The only way to fix this is to reboot the machine. The sound is fine after the reboot, but it's annoying to have to go through the reboot process. The machine is running Windows 11 and as far as I know, the drivers are all up to date.

Uninstall and reinstall the Audio drivers, You can also run Windows Audio Troubleshooter.
Run Windows Audio Troubleshooter:
Problem:
The Windows audio troubleshooter can automatically detect and fix common audio problems.
Solution:
Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
Under "Troubleshoot," click "Run the troubleshooter"
To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them. Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

There is an issue ongoing with Microsoft or dell between intel power management and several audio codecs dont know when this will get fixed. hoping to arrive a fix in May 2025.
Microsoft community is also seeing increased issues with several audio codecs. Now I see the high-definition audio controller driver under system devices got an update on 22 March 2025 directing the issue might be it or related where the firmware isn't matched for it.
