Please help! After 5 years my Inspiron 5515 still crashes every day.

Dell is not helping.  The tech supports people are either clueless or baffled every time I call in.  They seem more focused on trying to sell a service contract than they are about solving the problem.

i do all the driver updates, all the BIOS updates as soon as they are posted. And I do all the Windows 11 updates every time they are available just hoping that one day this problem will end.  I’m not a tech guy so I need all the help I can get.

Here are the details:

I’ve had nothing but problems with my Inspiron 15 5515 with Ryzen 7.  I feel like this is just a bad build.  I’ve had blue/black screen issues constantly since I’ve had it.  I can’t afford to buy a new computer at the moment and want this laptop to be as impressive in real life as it looked on paper.  I have a program called  Fortect on the computer and it monitors crashes and other issues. It crashes after updates, it crashes after upgrading RAM from 16gb to 32gb.  I bought two different sets of Crucial RAM and it still crashes.  I removed it want back to 16 gb and it still crashes.  it crashed a month ago and no exaggeration, spent 8 hours on the phone with Microsoft since Dell always blames Windows.   It crashed 3x while on the phone with Microsoft.

They said it’s a hardware issue and to call Dell.  I called Dell and after 40 minutes the tech, it crashed again, and the tech was at a loss for what the problem was. It crashed again and the tech blamed Windows again and I had to reinstall windows.  I’ve reinstalled windows and have not added any programs yet and it’s still crashing.

The laptop still fails at least once a day.  Today it crashed when I only using the internet. There is something seriously wrong with the 5515 and I’ve regretted purchasing this computer since the first month I bought it:  I should have taken the hint and returned it right away.

They replaced the motherboard; the problem still persists.  They replaced thr entire computer and the same problems still continue…. Btw this also needed my 5 year extended warranty.  So Im stuck with a laptop that fails at the most inopportune times.  Hey at least it looks good.

What is the problem with this build and aside from everything we have done already.  Isn’t there something that can be done to correct all the issues with the 5515?

I update the drivers and BIOS every time there is an update.  I do all the windows updates.

is there some settings I can change, some other hardware that is recommended to help, or anything else that can finally solve this issue after almost 5 years?

Hi

You could try eliminating Microsoft from the equation for a short time.

Using a large USB and RUFUS create a Linux Live OS.

It does not install, but runs as a fully fledged Operating System, and it can have an area to save work or install other programsin it's PERSISTENCE area.

I suggest Linux Mint, but Debian is also a possibility.

It obviously wont BSOD, but could still "crash".

If it does then it is not neccesarily a problem with MS, it is likely a Hardware (DELL) issue.

If it is stable then the culprit is most likely "software", in the OS or driver firmware.

Power OFF, Unplug it and boot into your current system.

If in doubt please ask.
