Partially Broken Right Hinge on Inspiron 16 7610 - Not Covered by Dell Premium Support!
I have contacted Dell support regarding my Inspiron 16 7610 (bought in April 2022 - so 4 years old) right hinge becoming loose and not allowing me to close the laptop without potentially breaking the screen.
I have 'Premium support (and on-site service variable)' but after 2.5 hours on the on-line Dell support chat, they stated that this repair was not covered.
After I said that I wanted this escalated, they then offered to pay for parts (I'm not exactly certain as it was not clear), but after trying countless times to get some explanation and clarity, I gave up using the Support Chat, as I wasn't moving forward or gaining a clear outcome.
I am frustrated that I have been paying for support (which I have never used prior to today) and don't even know if it is worth paying for going forward.
Does anyone have any experience like this? I'm not sure whether to pursue Dell or just 'cut my losses' and go to Curry's to get the hinge replaced
