What is the model and the OS installed on your Inspiron that is having over heating issues?

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

Has the system ever had a thorough internal cleaning and replacement of the thermal pads?  If not, at about four years old, that maintenance is overdue.

An external cooling pad may help, but that's the best you can do short of reducing the intensity of the applications you're running.

Even when new, this system wasn't designed as a gaming system - the years haven't improved that.  Reduce the game settings to match the system capability.  It's either that, or it's time for a new system that's more capable of running the games you want at the levels you seek.

There is no way to upgrade the internal fan.  Only the original one will work.

Sounds like it’s overheating badly. Try cleaning the fans/vents, use it on a hard surface and consider repasting the CPU/GPU. If temps still hit 100°C, get it checked by a technician.
