My Dell 5440 turns on when plugging the power
I have my Latitude 5440, and I noticed that it turns on when I plug in the AC power; additionally, when it is plugged in and I attempt to shut it down, it does not turn off but instead restarts.
I changed the related BIOS settings, and nothing changed.
Any help, please

Hi
There is a condition, I call Auto-Restart, where there is a problem with an app or driver or just a general software problem that prevents shutdown.....
Unticking the "Automatically restart" box does not cure the software glitch, but should allow 'normal' shutdown.
The examination of the event log(s) for the error is a different matter.
Open Event Viewer:
Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
Type
eventvwr
and press Enter.Alternatively, search for Event Viewer in the Start menu and open it.
Navigate to System Logs:
In the left pane, expand Windows Logs.
Click on System to view system-related logs.
Browse, Filter, or Export Logs:
Browse through the list for errors, warnings, or informational events.
Right-click System and select Filter Current Log to narrow your search by event type or date.
To export, click Save All Events As and choose a location and file type (e.g.,
.evtx
).Hope the above helps.
