What type of mouse do you have?

Troubleshooting Mouse Cursor Issues
If your mouse cursor is not working, follow these steps to diagnose and resolve the issue:

Unplug Devices: Disconnect all external devices, including:
Speakers
Printers
Scanners
USB devices (e.g., external keyboard, USB flash drives)
Restart the Computer: Turn your computer back on and check if the cursor movement is functioning correctly.
Test Devices Individually: If the cursor works, reconnect each device one at a time to identify any that may be causing the issue.
Run Diagnostics: If the mouse still does not work:
Use Dell's integrated diagnostics (SupportAssist ePSA) to check if the mouse is detected at a hardware level.
If an error is reported, note the error and validation code, then submit the issue on another internet-connected device.
Check Software Issues: If the mouse is detected but not functioning, the problem may be related to the operating system or installed software. Consider:
Using a restore point to revert the operating system to a previous state when the mouse worked.
Reinstalling the operating system if necessary.
Reinstall Mouse Drivers: If issues persist, reinstall the mouse drivers:
Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
Right-click each entry and select Uninstall device.
Restart your computer to allow Windows to reinstall the drivers automatically.
Test on Another Device: Connect the mouse to another computer to determine if the issue lies with the mouse or your computer settings.
By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with your mouse cursor.
