Major fault Inspiron 15
I purchased my Dell product in July of 2023. In February of this year, I opened my laptop and the hinge snapped. It has not been taken out of my home, has had light use, nor has it been dropped. Since the 21st of February I have been in contact with Dell customer support. They offered me onsite service three times, however, this was ultimately reneged on each occasion. They asked me to mail in my product for repair, however I informed them that I work off this device and could not be without it for an extended period of time, as well as my firm belief that mailing it in would cause further damage. Since, I have been thrown around to different support technicians, all giving me differing advice, solutions and information. In addition to this, two customer service employees took full responsibility for the faults, but still did not provide me with a fair, reasonable and time-effective solution.
Through a quick google search I was provided with overwhelming evidence that this is a known fault with this product. A know fault that should be recalled. I have not been able to get anywhere and have lost a significant amount of time dealing with Dell personnel.
This is absolutely not "fair wear and tear." I was informed on multiple occasions that a repair would take up to two weeks and personnel were "unsure if they had the right parts."
This is a major and known fault of the dell Inspiron series. I am incredibly disappointed that I was sold this product in the first place; I was not given the opportunity to provide informed consent (a very basic right for any service user/consumer); and lastly, I am incredibly concerned regarding the lack of support I received.

Hi,
I'm having the same issues with Dell customer support. I have the same laptop (make & model) and this is a widespread fault that Dell refuse to properly acknowledge. I'm in Australia and Dell can't contract out of their consumer law obligations. Definitely have a look in to it; I'm currently in touch with Victorian Consumer Affairs and they have been incredibly helpful.

I am once again starting a conversation with Dell, after the continuously delete my threads.
<They are all here. Please continue discussion with the "Get Help Now" team.DELL-Admin>
I bought an Inspiron 15 in July 2023 - have had it for a year and a half and the hinges randomly snapped - shards of plastic are falling out of my screen, the laptop overheats and the charging port does not support charging cables for an acceptable time period. Have provided incredible amounts of evidence of this and I have subsequently been working with Vic consumer affairs to have this remedied. Dell continue to refuse, stating my laptop is out of warranty. Warranty does not actually override consumer legislation and consumer guarantees. This is a faulty product that Dell are aware of, however they continue to sell the product. Please respond.
