Laptop suddenly using integrated graphics, no gpu detected - Inspiron 15 5577

My laptop has recently started using the intergrated graphics, I checked device manager and the NVIDIA GPU was hidden but it wasn't letting me unhide it, so I reinstalled drivers, and restarted it. This didn't help as when I went to try and unhide my GPU and reenable it, it was completely gone. I still have video and audio, but games run really rubbish, and this is the main thing I use it for.

Unplug the system and disconnect the main battery from the system board.  Hold the power button for 30 sec.

Reassemble an open the device manager -- if you do see the second GPU, is the driver loaded correctly?

If you do not see the discrete GPU, either it has failed, or the power to it has failed -- either way the only fix is a replacement system board, which given the age of this system likely isn't worth the cost (and if you decide on a repair, compare the cost of a complete used system -- perhaps newer than this one -- to the cost of a board replacement).  It may be more cost-effective to replace rather than pour significant money into a system that's likely worth $200 or less.
