Laptop battery drains fast even when shut down

Hi Everyone,

I’ve been noticing that my Dell laptop (Inspiron 15, Windows 11) is losing battery even when it’s completely shut down. If I leave it off overnight, the battery drops by 5–10%, and over a couple of days, it’s almost empty.

I’ve checked that it’s really shut down (not in sleep or hibernate), and I’ve turned off things like Wake-on-LAN in the BIOS. Still no luck.

Could it be a BIOS setting I missed or maybe something hardware-related?

Thanks in advance!

How old is the system/battery?  It sounds like a weak battery.

What is the current charge capacity of the battery AND the full system model number (Inspiron 3501, 5593, etc.)?

To obtain the battery information:  open a command prompt with admin privilege and type powercfg /batteryreport
