If your Dell keyboard is automatically typing or repeating characters, especially when you press certain keys, the issue might be related to the Num Lock key being enabled, or a problem with the keyboard's delay settings.

Here's how to troubleshoot:
1. Check Num Lock:
If you're using the number pad keys on the right side of your keyboard, pressing keys like U, I, O, J, K, L might be inputting numbers instead of letters if Num Lock is on.
To disable Num Lock, press the dedicated Num Lock key.
2. Adjust Keyboard Delay:
If the keyboard is repeating characters, try adjusting the keyboard delay in Windows. Go to Control Panel > Keyboard,
Run Keyboard Troubleshooter:
Windows has a built-in keyboard troubleshooter. Search for "Keyboard" in the Find and fix other problems section and run the troubleshooter.

You can also click here to view the Keyboard Troubleshooting Guide.

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

Update keyboard driver as well Some time an outdated keyboard driver can also be the reason for this kind of issue which you are facing. So try to update your keyboard driver.
