keyboard

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop. The keyboard will not work at all (not Microsoft, Google, apps, etc) unless I start in BIOS. I can enter BIOS by F2 or F12 and the keyboard works there, but I don't have to do anything in BIOS--I can just enter it and then exit--and then the keyboard works again!

I have tried power cycling. I have updated the drivers. I have updated everything. I have tried long-pressing the right shift button. I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them. I have run diagnostics in BIOS. I have updated and run tests on BIOS and dell.com, etc, etc, etc. No error codes. No nothing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Click here for resolving keyboard issues with your laptop.

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

There is no debris.

There are no external plug-ins.

Keyboard works if I start-up in BIOS. I don't have to do anything in BIOS, just enter and exit and then the keyboard works.

I am updated on Windows.

I am updated on Dell Drivers and Updates.

I have removed and re-installed all keyboard drivers.

Keyboard diagnostic tests say everything is fine and no errors.

I will try troubleshooting with Dell Chat support.
