Keyboard backlight stopped working.
I barely use this laptop. I just regularly update windows/firmware/BIOS etc. But recently I noticed that my backlight of my keyboard stopped working. Then, I googled for solution. Tried on BIOS settings to backlight for both 'Dim' and 'Bright' options, but I'm out of luck. Now, I've become kinda hopeless because I barely use it and I use with great care.

Does the keyboard illuminate at power up time, and then go dark after the OS loads, or does it never illuminate at all? If it never illuminates, check the cable connection to the mainboard (service manual link below). If it does, but doesn't under Windows, it's very likely an issue with the alienware command center software.

@ejn63 Sorry for my late reply. No. It does not illuminate at all. I'll check the cable connection as well as ACC if there have been any issues. Then I'll give you a feedback.

@ejn63 Can you elaborate on alienware command center software?

@ejn63 If ACC can't solve the issue, then I will take this laptop to a technician to check if there have been any issues with the cable connection.

Not all Inspiron G series support ACC -- did you have it installed before?
If not, it's not the issue - the hardware is.
