Key board cleaning and power adaptor - Inspiron 3421
Cleaning the laptop and keyboard after a service call. Please if you can guide how many I clean the laptop body and key board after a service call. Can one use sanitizer with a tissue paper to clean the key boards. Also if there is any special spray or liquid available to clean for any dirt / dirt particles.
Also if one has to change the power adaptor for Inspiron 3421 , would it be a small pin or large pin adaptor. Many sold in market with different prices also Amazon sell has some great price discount than a dell authorised shop kindly advise on this . Thank you

Do not immerse the keyboard in any liquid -- doing so will destroy it.

Any gentle household cleaner will do the job of cleaning. Don't use santizer -- the alcohol can ruin the plastic finish.
If this is the 2013-vintage Inspiron 3421, it uses a 7.4 mm DC jack. Note that third party adapters (non-Dell) will power the system but will not charge the battery -- for charging you need an OEM adapter.

Thank you so much for guiding. Yes its 2013 laptop and working fine till date. I had to just replace the screen as black patches had come on it. Post screen installation. Since the laptop has come from a repair store , wanted to clean it especially the key board and the body of the laptop. I think the best way to clean it would be to use any antiseptic liquid (Detol) dip in like warm water and just swipe it thr laptop body and then the key board. Any dirt or infection would be cleaned up. Hope this would be fine to do. Yes I am also replacing the power adaptor and will buy one from the Dell shops near my house . Heard many fake models are sold online. Just was looking at the price part the Dell stores were little expensive to one sold online. But finally decided to buy only real product from Dell store. Thank u so much for guiding

Just in case you haven't yet bought a new AC adapter, you should check Parts-People. Parts-People is a reliable supplier of genuine Dell parts. They stock parts for older models that Dell no longer has, as well as for newer models, and their prices may be less than Dell. Here are AC adapters for your laptop.
As for cleaning, ejn63 is correct, do not use liquid. To clean keyboard, palmrest and touchpad, while it is turned off, you could wet and then wring out a soft cloth so it is merely damp, not wet, and wipe those surfaces. If the area is particularly dirty, you could mix a few drops of dishwashing liquid in warm water, soak the cloth in that and then wring out the cloth so it is just damp.
Do not use any cleaners containing ammonia (e.g. Windex), as ammonia fumes can harm electronics.
