KB5065426 - Windows 11 Update loop / boot loop
I have a Dell Inspiron 14 5410 2-in-1
running
Edition Windows 11 Home
Version 24H2
Installed on 5/6/2025
OS build 26100.4946
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.197.0
Last week it would appear Windows update tried to apply KB5065426 and KB5064401 and failed somewhere in the process. My system will boot to my normal Windows 11 and works exactly as normal but every night Windows 11 Update reboots and tries to apply the updates. I assume something is broken in the EFI System Partition or similar.
Even if I hibernate the system at the end of the day, it will be on a the HTTPS boot failure screen the next morning. If I power off and on, the system then boots Windows as normal. I have run the "thorough" BIOS diagnostics including the SSD and everything passes.
Is there any way I can stop these updates from being applied nightly? Any other suggestions?

@ejn63 That might work, currently I'm trying to install the "Windows 11, version 24H2 (repair version)" via Windows Update Troubleshooter. Thanks for the link.

Well here is where I am. I ran the Wndows Update Troubleshooter, which removed the two listed updates from the update list and started the download of "Windows 11, version 24H2 (repair version)".
That failed. I shutdown last night and the system stayed off. When I powered on this morning this system went straight to Windows 11 and everything is working fine. "Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.435.768.0) - Current Channel (Broad)" just updated and was installed no problem.
Meanwhile, the current download of " "Windows 11, version 24H2 (repair version)". seems to be stuck at 6%.
This isn't a diskspace issue, I have 180GB on my C-drive. I'm ok to live with that for now.
