Ispiron 2 in 1 16" 7640

I am looking at changing the 2230 SSD for a 2280 one. Can anyone tell me if this is possible?

From the manual

Your Inspiron 16 7640 2-in-1 supports one of the following storage configurations:

  • One M.2 2230 solid-state drive
  • One M.2 2280 solid-state drive

Your system will support a 2280 drive.  Click here to view the storage specs.

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. May seem a silly question but is there a maximum size capacity of a 2280 SSD you can install.
