Inspiron is in for repair, but unable to find current repair status.
This is not a complaint - just a search for info.
My Inspiron is in for repair.
This is the second time this laptop has been in for repair since it was delivered on 29/05/25.
The first "repair" was ridiculous. There was nothing actually wrong. I simply wasn't pressing the correct buttons. (I'm 81)
But despite that, I received several useful, informative emails at each stage of Dell's repair process:
- We received your computer for repairs
- We started repairs on your computer
- We shipped your computer back
The second repair was my own fault.
When I sent it back, I received ONE email:
- (14/07/25) We received your computer for repairs.
Because of the lack of emails compared with the first incident, I suspect that nothing has actually happenedSince then, there have been no further emails since 14/07/25.
I've tried several times to contact them, but I always get the message:
- All our agents are busy. Please try later
I've only ever bought Dells. I have no intention of changing. My first Dell had a big monitor, separate keyboard, twin "tower" on the floor for floppies. I think I'm on my fifth Dell now.
I'm typing this post on an Inspiron 17R 5720.
The Dell service for this Inspiron, and all previous Dells was 100% first class.
It used to be a 1-click operation for a live chat with a real human Dell agent. My last chat was maybe 5 years ago.
So the Dell reliability is still there, but ease of contact has dropped to about zero%
Question: Has anyone managed to discover how to contact Dell?
The "Chat" is simply a pre-composed string of automated responses. There's no human at the other end.
Thanks
