Inspiron 5770 Intel i5-8250u 8th Gen not compatible with Windows 11

Hello,

I ran the Microsoft PC Health Check and got the result that my PC meets Windows 11 requirements.

However my PC is not on the Dell list of compatible hardware for Windows 11, and on the support page, I get:

Dell does not support Windows 11 on your device. View our system requirements here.

When I look at system requirements, all seem to be met...

In Windows Update, I don't get any option for installing Windows 11.

I also ran a utility called Whynotwin11 and get positive answers to all requirements (see screenshot, sorry It's in french language, but you should easily guess)

Now, I'm puzzled about what to do, as Windows 10 support should end in October.

I also upgraded the UHD Graphics Driver to the latest one (W11 compatible), but it did not help.

Any help from the community would be greatly appreciated.

Gilles

Dell may not support Windows 11, but Microsoft does on that hardware -- it should work fine.  It would likely be a better idea to do a clean install than an upgrade, particularly if the Windows on the system is factory install from 2018.

@ejn63 Thanks a lot! How would you perform a "clean install"? At this time, I only saw the option of running Windows11InstallationAssistant.exe , as I cannot upgrade through Windows Update

You can use the Microsoft Media creation tool to build an install flash drive.
