Inspiron 3584 ram upgrade
Hi. I have an inspiron 3585 with 4gb of ram. I have purchased 16gb ram (SODIMM DDR4 1.2V). The laptop will not start with new ram. Refit 4gb ram laptop starts up. I have tried doing a bios update to get it to recognise the bigger ram but it not get past the caps light flashing and then turns itself off. Bios version is 1.23. What am I missing?. Any advise appreciated.

It is a 3584 not 3585.

Check with the seller about compatibility. Two types of RAM that are common and likely won't work are "value" RAM and "gaming" RAM.
