Inspiron 3501 Cirrus Audio Issues
After updating Windows 11 to 24H2, I encountered audio issues. When the computer enters sleep mode, the audio service disconnects, producing distorted sounds like scratching noise. I attempted several solutions, including reinstalling the Cirrus audio drivers via Dell’s support and the device manager. While the audio temporarily worked, the drivers occasionally disappeared. Restoring the system to the previous Windows version didn’t resolve the problem, and the issue persisted. Additionally, the BIOS was updated during the Windows update, but attempts to downgrade the BIOS didn’t fix the issue. The only component that couldn’t be downgraded was the ME firmware.
Currently, audio functions correctly after restarting, but only for about four minutes before the distortion reoccurs. Both headphones and Bluetooth speakers are affected. Despite having the latest Cirrus driver version provided by Dell installed, there are no further updates available. I also tried a factory image restore, but the issue remains. This suggests the problem could stem from either the BIOS or a miscommunication between the driver and Windows. Immediate assistance is needed, as this significantly impacts productivity.

Did you install the chipset drivers prior to installing the audio drivers? If not, give that a try to see if you have better results.

Download the audio definition | DELL Technologies Here is another person having the issue with the audio code Cirrus CS8049. The driver seems not to be compactable with windows 11 24h2 as it has some communication errors.

The chipset drivers were already installed gave an update from Intel but didn't solve the problem.

Is there any update on this nothing heard back. Don’t know why the driver is not being stable with windows OS using the latest 24h2. Requesting a driver update
