Inspiron 15 3535 MyDell won't show charging modes after recent BIOS update to 1.20.0
Hello. I was using the MyDell app to change to the 4 different charging modes on my Inspiron 15 3535, but after the recent BIOS update to 1.20.0, the 4 different charging modes don't show up under the Charging mode section. There use to be 4 different icons there but they are gone as you can see from the picture below. The battery charges up to the last custom charging mode that I used but I can't change it. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

The My Dell Mobile app is no longer available It is end of service. When you updated your bios it may have have removed the charging modes that you have been using. Click here to learn more about the My Dell App.
To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them. Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

@DELL-Jesse L Thanks for your reply. I am using the My Dell application for a Windows 11 laptop, not a mobile device. Is the Windows My Dell application also discontinued? Is there a way to access the charging modes without the My Dell application?

Sorry for the delayed response. It is My Dell version 3.3. Here is the screenshot which shows the blank area under the Charging Mode, so I can't even choose a Charging Mode.

@tomruthchew Hi, you may still change the way your battery charges in BIOS. All the same options that used to be in My Dell should be there, including customising when to start and stop charging.
BTW: I am also experiencing the same issue in my Inspiron 16 5645. The options just disappeared from My Dell. I hadn't connected it with the BIOS update because I was setting up a new laptop and a lot of things were just updating, but you may be right.
Good luck with solving this.

Thanks, Mike! I didn't know they were in the BIOS, and that works for me as once I set the custom charging, in general, I don't keep on changing the charging mode. Thanks!

@Mikey.et
On the subject of the Inspiron 16 5645. Seems like Dell released a new bios version this week (1.13), which seems to claim it fixes the matter.
Any chance you or anyone else can confirm it fixes, the battery settings in MyDell.
I'm running Debian, where tlp is supposed to offer similar battery settings, but on bios 1.10 they are broken. On bios 1.11 even setting it from bios seems broken, but at least that is fixed in 1.13.

@spangaer
Hi,
Thanks for reaching out with the news.
Funny thing - I updated Dell Support and My Dell a few days ago hoping that the feature would return; it didn't, so I resigned to using BIOS from now on. Then, I read your message and decided to check for updates, I checked the BIOS version first - it's 1.11, then, afer rebooting (no updates, though), I fired MY Dell and voila, the battery settings are there! How it happened, I've no idea, but the result is what counts. At least now I'm sure it wasn't me that broke something earlier. 😏
Good luck to you all.

@Mikey.et Yes, it is good to know that there is an update. MyDell has been removed, and it is called Dell Optimzer. However, I still cannot find the different charging settings in this new app. I can only see the different thermal settings. Is anyone else seeing the different options for charging?
