Inspiron 15 3530 - Thermal Dissipation Issue and PCI Bus Error
I am seeking technical clarification regarding a recurring thermal issue with my Inspiron 15 3530.
While using the system for basic tasks, the chassis becomes significantly hot to the touch, yet the air being exhausted by the fan remains cold. This suggests that heat is not being effectively conducted from the processor to the cooling fins. In addition to this physical symptom, the Dell SupportAssist online hardware scan consistently reports a DW-31 PCI Bus error.
The system has had the thermal assembly removed and reattached multiple times during previous service visits. It appears the thermal contact is no longer sufficient, causing heat to soak into the motherboard rather than being pushed out by the fan.
Since the diagnostic tools are flagging a communication error and the physical cooling is clearly failing but the epsa test passed, is this normal.
