Inspiron 15 3520 hinge problem

I've seen alot of comments regarding this hinge issue and have found comments stating that it's a manufacturer defect.  Very disappointed that Dell won't take responsibility for it though.  My laptop is out of the warranty period and I've already had to take it to a repair place and spend quite a bit of money to have this repaired.  Less than a year later and after being incredibly careful closing my laptop, it's happened again.  Beyond frustrated and will not be purchasing another Dell laptop.  They obviously won't stand behind their products.

You won't be any happier with an IdeaPad, Pavilion, ASUS, Acer, etc. consumer grade system either -- they're all built the same way.

Look at a business-class notebook next time -- no other manufacturer is going to replace parts out of warranty on any system -- much less a budget consumer grade notebook either.

@ejn63 Thank you for your comments - I really appreciate it.  My current laptop has a great processor and RAM so I hate to have to buy new but it may come down to that.  If so, I'll consider the other Dell options which I've now read have better construction.  Just really disappointed in having to deal with this at all.  Thanks again though!
