Inspiron 15 3000 - Broken hinge for the 2nd time

I am very disappointed with my laptop - the  hinge broke last August pulling the surrounding edge around the screen away from the base. At the time I had premium support so it was quickly repaired. However, the same thing has happened and now I will have to dispose of the laptop and buy a replacement. The warranty on repairs last 3 months and the cost of repair is about 40% of a new laptop. I let my service plan slip last December! I see from previous posts that this seems to be problem inherent with the Inspiron 15. Does anyone else have the same problem with other Dell models?
