Good Morning @Sushanta_123 ...

It's definitely frustrating to have a newly purchased laptop with a broken hinge, especially from a brand like Dell!

Here's a breakdown of steps you can take:

1. Contact Dell Official Support Immediately:

  • Warranty: Since it's a newly purchased laptop, it should be under warranty. Hinge issues can sometimes be considered a manufacturing defect, and Dell might cover it. Even if it's considered accidental damage, sometimes they offer solutions.
  • Contact Numbers (Dell India):
    • Consumer Support: 1800-425-4026
    • Technical Support: 1800-425-2067 or 1-800-570-2070
    • WhatsApp Support: 9108883355 (Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm)
  • Online Chat/Support: Visit the Dell India support website ( dell.com/en-in/lp/dt/contact-us ) and look for the "Get Help Now" chat button. Dell's community forums also suggest reaching out to their tech support even if your system is out of warranty, as they might review the condition and make a decision.
  • Be Prepared: Have your laptop's Service Tag (usually on a sticker on the bottom or in the BIOS) ready. Be clear and polite when explaining the issue, emphasizing that it's a newly purchased device and the hinge broke without misuse.

2. Explore Dell's Service Options (Even Without a Local Center):

  • Collect and Return Service: Dell often offers a "Collect and Return" service, where they arrange for your laptop to be picked up, repaired at a central facility, and then shipped back to you. This is a common solution when there isn't a walk-in service center nearby. Inquire about this when you contact Dell support.
  • Onsite Service (Less likely for hinge, but worth asking): For some issues and warranty types, Dell offers onsite service where a technician visits your location. While hinge replacement might require specialized tools or a clean environment, it's worth asking if this is an option for your warranty plan.
    • Techyuga: They advertise nationwide laptop repair services, including hinge replacement, for all major brands, including Dell. They offer pickup and delivery. You can check their website or contact them at 9088888835.

Important Considerations:

  • Warranty First: Always try to go through Dell's official support first, as repairs under warranty will be free of cost. Going to a third-party service might void your warranty if not handled correctly.
  • Documentation: Keep all purchase receipts, warranty information, and any communication with Dell (case numbers, email transcripts) organized.
  • Photos/Videos: Take clear photos or a video of the broken hinge before you send it for repair. This can be helpful documentation.
  • Data Backup: Before sending your laptop for any repair, always back up your important data.
