G7 7790, battery no longer charging after impact
Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue with my Dell G7 7790. After I accidentally hit the area next to the touchpad with my fist, the laptop stopped charging.
Here are the details:
The yellow charging LED on the side is flashing.
The battery level drops 2–3% daily (currently at 65%).
HWiNFO hardware diagnostics show everything is fine.
The laptop otherwise functions perfectly.
The battery was already weak before this; the battery report showed a full charge capacity of just 1.52 mWh (original was 60 mWh), and it's still decreasing.
I’ve already ordered a new battery, but I’m concerned that the charging issue might not be battery-related.
Could the impact have damaged a charging component? Where should I start diagnosing further, and is there anything I can check before the new battery arrives?
Any ideas or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Regards

You can check the health of the battery by clicking here. and here Its hard to say if anything is affected when you hit the laptop.
To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them. Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

First thing to do is verify that the system still recognizes the AC adapter. F2 at powerup to check.
