G3 3579 "USB device not recognized"
Dell G3 3579
I just noticed this error when I plug in my phone. Windows 11 is not recognizing my phone. I'm not sure when it started because I usually just charge my phone (it still charges). It used to recognize my phone so I suspect it's a driver. I've done all the recommended fixes; update drivers, uninstall drivers, change power settings, run diagnostics and try different cables. Nothing has worked. Neither the USB 3 ports nor the Thunderbolt type-c are recognizing my phone. I'm at a loss here. I could probably do a factory reset but that would be a huge pita. Any help would be appreciated.

Before going after a reload, try another USB cable -- they don't last forever and they can wear out from repeated connecting/disconnecting.

Yah I was thinking about that. I have a good USB 3.0 somewhere but I can't find it. The thing is the Thunderbolt isn't working and that's a good, new cable. If I find the one I'm looking for I can totally rule out the cables...

Yep. Found the original USB to type-c that came with the phone and it worked. No clue why the Thunderbolt isn't recognizing it but maybe it's the cable as well.
