G15 5515, unable to change brightness, #2
Dell G15 5515 Ryzen Edition
For over a month now, in my Laptop (Dell G15 5515 Ryzen Edition) i've not managed to change it's screen brightness, either using the keys or by moving the slider, nothing works. I've tried updating the drivers, reinstalling them, reinstalling the monitor, but nothing worked, how do i fix this?

If your Dell laptop's brightness is not changing, it can be a frustrating issue, especially if the display is too bright or too dim for your liking. There are several potential causes for this problem, and I'll provide some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve it:
Check Brightness Settings: Ensure that the brightness settings on your laptop are not at the minimum or maximum level. Use the function keys (usually labeled with a sun icon) on your keyboard to adjust the brightness. Typically, you need to press the "Fn" key in combination with the function key that has the sun icon.
Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can sometimes cause issues with brightness controls. Visit the official Dell support website, find the latest graphics drivers for your laptop model, and install them.
Disable Adaptive Brightness: Windows has a feature called "Adaptive Brightness," which automatically adjusts the brightness based on the ambient light conditions. This feature can interfere with manual brightness adjustments. To disable Adaptive Brightness, go to "Settings" > "System" > "Display" > "Change brightness and color" and turn off "Change brightness automatically when lighting changes."
Check Power Settings: Some power plans in Windows can limit the maximum brightness to conserve battery life. Go to "Control Panel" > "Power Options" and make sure the selected power plan allows for full brightness.
Run Windows Troubleshooter: Windows includes a built-in display troubleshooter that can help identify and fix common display-related issues. Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot" > "Display" and run the troubleshooter.
Check for BIOS Update: Sometimes, BIOS updates can address compatibility issues and improve overall system stability. Visit the Dell support website, enter your laptop's service tag, and check if there are any BIOS updates available for your model.
Scan for Malware: Malware or certain third-party software can interfere with system processes, including display settings. Run a thorough scan using your preferred antivirus software to check for any potential malware.
Test in Safe Mode: Booting your laptop in Safe Mode can help determine if the issue is caused by third-party applications or drivers. If brightness controls work fine in Safe Mode, it indicates a software conflict.
If none of the above steps resolve the brightness issue, it's possible that there could be a hardware problem with the display or related components. In such cases, it's best to contact Dell support or take your laptop to an authorized service center for further diagnosis and repair.
