Extremely Poor Performance & Support – Dell Inspiron 15 3530 (Within 6 Months of Purchase)

I am utterly shocked and frustrated with the Dell Inspiron 15 3530. I purchased this laptop in September 2025 for coding and educational purposes, expecting a reliable device. I spent ₹60,000 on this laptop with the following specifications: Intel Core i5 13th Gen, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD. What I got instead is a horrible, completely useless machine that has made my life miserable in just 6 months.

Let me break down my experience:

Performance Issues:

  • YouTube videos lag constantly, Microsoft Excel freezes, and basic multitasking is impossible.
  • Opening Visual Studio Code, which is a light code editor, causes the laptop to freeze or shut down automatically.
  • I cannot even perform simple educational tasks without my laptop crashing or slowing down to a crawl.

Diagnostics Failure:

  • I tried running Dell’s diagnostic tests, but the laptop froze mid-test.
  • Pressing "Esc" or any key to exit did nothing. It shows absolute instability even when following Dell’s own troubleshooting process.

Excessive Heating:

  • The laptop heats so much that I cannot even place it on my lap at times.
  • This is completely unacceptable for a laptop that is only 6 months old.

Disastrous Support Experience:

  • Dell support has been completely useless and incompetent.
  • I reached out multiple times, and the response I got 2 days after purchase was: “It’s new, after updates the issue should resolve.”
  • The problems did not improve; in fact, they got worse. No proper solution was provided. It feels like Dell doesn’t care about customer experience at all.

Overall Experience:

  • This is hands down the worst laptop I have ever owned.
  • The combination of poor performance, extreme heating, and useless support makes this product unfit for any professional, educational, or personal use.

Recommendation:
Avoid Dell laptops at all costs. I spent ₹60,000 on this device with good specifications, and it has failed completely. Dell is not only producing poorly built laptops but also backing them with the worst customer support I have ever experienced.

Contact Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support Monday through Friday. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private Service Tag with them so that they can verify the ownership and warranty status. This will also generate a unique Technical Support case for your unique Service Tag.

If a unit is freezing during the diagnostic test, then you should be looking at a hardware failure. I'd recommend contacting support once more as the motherboard or another component is causing an issue.
