DP over USB-C to HDMI connected monitor stopped waking up in December 2025 (G15 5530)

I have a DP over USB-C to HDMI adapter connecting a second external monitor (1080p 60 Hz monitor) to my G15 5530. The adapter worked perfectly until mid-December 2025, since then the adapter connected monitor fails to wake up after overnight monitor sleep (the computer does not sleep as it has overnight tasks). Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

I am guessing a Microsoft update may have changed something in the Intel onboard graphics (the G15 is a hybrid, driving the second monitor with the onboard Intel GPU).

The only way to wake the adapter connected monitor is to force the computer to fully sleep, wait a few moments, then wake the computer up again.

I have tried various power management settings (example: USB Root Hubs and eXtensible Host Controllers power down inhibited), no change in behaviour.

Thanks!

Follow-up ... Issue solved!

Plugable tech support sent me a new DP over USB-C to HDMI adapter, the same model as the original. The adapter connected monitor wakes up just fine now. Some component tolerance in the original adapter must have been slightly out of range for a new driver or Microsoft update.

Plugable tech support was fantastic! Since I identified myself as a technical person our conversations and troubleshooting steps were on a technical level. When all setting changes did not make a difference Plugable sent me a replacement part no charge (over a year after I originally purchased the adapter).
