Docking station

This model has multiple options for external connectivity.

Note that the model that ships in a plastic chassis does not support video out other than over HDMI.  If you have that model and are looking for video out through the dock, you'll need a dock with displaylink support such as the UD22.

Only the model that comes in an aluminum chassis with discrete (not just integrated) video supports video out over USB.  These can use a USB-C dock such as the WD19 model (note that the system does not have Thunderbolt).

So -- the limitations of the dock are inherent to the specific system you have.

The machine has HDMI 1.4 so at best a HD television or similar is best you can hope for

* By the way, the Inspiron 15 3530 does not appear in this Docks Compatibility Guide.

If the system is black, it's plastic.  If it's silver colored, it's aluminum.

If it's aluminum, make sure it has a discrete GPU (i.e., not just the Intel integrated GPU).  Those have USB-C video support -- the lower models do not.

No dock will charge this system, which charges only over the Dell round DC input jack.
