Dell Inspiron 16 7610 – BIOS 1.35.0 fan control regression (GPU fan max, CPU fan under-responding, thermal throttling)

I’m posting this to see if other Inspiron 16 7610 (or Vostro 7510) owners are experiencing similar behavior after BIOS 1.35.0.

System:

  • Dell Inspiron 16 7610

  • Intel i7-11800H

  • BIOS 1.35.0 (Sept 2025)

Issue after BIOS update:

  • GPU fan runs at or near full speed, even at idle

  • CPU fan does not ramp appropriately, even when CPU temps are high

  • HWInfo confirms CPU package temps reaching 95–97°C with repeated thermal throttling

  • This occurs even at light load and sometimes immediately after startup

Troubleshooting performed:

  • BIOS reset to defaults

  • EC power reset

  • Dell Power Manager profile changes

  • Clean OS environment

  • Physical fan replacement (no change)

Important detail:
BIOS 1.35.0 installs new Secure Boot certificates and explicitly blocks BIOS rollback, so reverting to earlier versions is not possible.

This strongly points to an EC / fan-table regression introduced in BIOS 1.35.0, rather than a hardware or OS issue.

If anyone else with this model has seen similar fan or thermal behavior after recent BIOS updates, I’d really appreciate confirmation.
