Dell G5 5500 RGB Light Stuck on Blue – Not Responding to Alienware Command Center

Dell G5 15 5500

Dell G5 15 5500

Hi,
I have a Dell G5 5500 and I'm experiencing an issue with the RGB light strip beneath the laptop. It’s stuck on a static blue color and won't turn off or change, even when I try adjusting it through the Alienware Command Center.

When I start the laptop, all colors (including an orange light) briefly appear during boot, but once it's fully on, the light just goes blue and stays that way. I've tried the following steps:

  • Reinstalled Alienware Command Center (multiple times)

  • Updated all drivers and BIOS

  • Attempted to reconfigure lighting settings

  • Tried changing the LED strip itself

Despite all this, the issue still persists. The RGB seems completely unresponsive to any software control now. Is there a known fix for this or do I need a hardware replacement?

Thanks in advance!

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.
