Dell G15 5530 and SSD Samsung 860 EVO

Hi, I just bought new Dell G15 5530 laptop and I'm trying add my older ssd disk from previous dell laptop, but the system, bios cant see this disk. It is Samsung 860 EVO SSD M.2 model: MZ-N6E500.

Is this disk is compatible with my laptop?

Hi

Your Dell G15 5530 supports one of the following storage configurations:

  • One M.2 2230 or M.2 2280 solid-state drive
  • Two M.2 2230 or M.2 2280 solid-state drives

AND the picture here does show the connectors...

The listing is for Gen 4, so....

M.2 2230 solid-state drive

PCIe NVMe Gen4 x4

Up to 1 TB

M.2 2280 solid-state drive

PCIe NVMe Gen4 x4

Up to 2 TB

NO.  Sorry.

Internally, no since it is a SATA drive.

You may use it as an external drive by purchasing a USB to SATA enclosure.  Example:
