Dell G15 5525 / BIOS update (from 1.11 to 1.13) crashing my laptop

EDIT: Just wanted to let you know that about a month ago I upgraded the BIOS Driver to the 1.15 version. My laptop is back! Everything running smoothly, no BSOD. Sadly I had bought a new laptop in the meantime, but that's fine in the end.

Around november, the BIOS driver automatically went from 1.10 to 1.11 and started crashing with just about any software that I need for work, including games and old console emulators. I had to do a rollback to 1.10 and everything went back to normal.

On december, the 1.12 driver came out, once again, the laptop automatically updated to this one (even though I had disabled the auto updates for the BIOS). The laptop started crashing again every single time. I did a second rollback and all perfect.

Today it automatically installed the 1.13 (yes, again!) and as I was expecting, my laptop is crashing for almost everything. I'm tired of this situation with you guys.

The worst of it all, is that now it is NOT POSSIBLE to rollback the driver, leaving this machine basically USELESS.

Why would my laptop updates to a new BIOS driver if it's working really bad with everything. I disabled the auto updates, why? I need this machine for work. How disappointing.

I worked 1 full year with no issues until this started happening. Please help me.

I am also facing kind of the same problem. After the bios update 1.13.1, my laptop has started overheating! The idle temps have gone up to almost 60-70C. Google Chrome has started lagging and playing YouTube videos has become a nightmare. Even the lightest task like scrolling PDFs has spiked my temps from 50C to 70C under 1 second. Software support of Dell has become a nightmare for me!

Hi all,

Thank you for sharing your experiences with BIOS version 1.13.1. As a result, Dell has removed this version from Drivers and Downloads, as outlined in the article below:

"Inspiron G Series and Alienware Notebooks Experience System Instabilities, Blue Screen Errors with BIOS Version 1.11.1, 1.12.0, or 1.13.1"

Dell is in the process of preparing the release of a new BIOS version.

Your cooperation is highly appreciated!

Turn on high performance mode with fn + F9. This works to me. While the new BIOS version not comes out, try this.
