Dell G15 5520 won’t update bios+recognise gpu
So I noticed that my gpu has been giving a problem 43, and that the computer doesn’t seem to know it exists. I scanned it and it sees the hardware, but won’t use or even give the option to use it on graphics, and the nvidia app says that there are no drivers installed. However when booted in safe mode there’s no error.
ive tried to fix this by updating the bios, but I can’t do that. Whenever I try to update it and restart, it shuts off and when it opens again it freezes on the dell logo, nothing else just that.
ive tried changing bios and resetting and updating manually but nothing has worked, how can I update it or preferably be able to select and launch my gpu?

Do a system reset - unplug, disconnect the battery from the mainboard and hold the power button for 30 sec.
Then reassemble and try powering up again.

@ejn63
im not really confident to take it apart, some of the screws are damaged. Is there another way to do one/any other options? If not I’ll give it a try but I’m worried about damaging it further.

You can try holding the power button for 30 sec with the AC adapter unplugged, but a complete reset requires disconnecting the battery.

@ejn63 I’ve tried that and most everything else and it hasn’t worked. Main issue is that whenever I try to access USFI or update bios from anywhere it freezes, and I think that’s causing my nvidia card to have a problem 43 as well.
