Dell 5567 - Power charger is unknown
Hi all,
I've been working on this laptop for over a month.
The issue is that the CPU is stuck at 400mhz and the power charger is still unknown, according to the bios.
New ac adapter (Dell 65w)
New battery (Now says it's healthy, old battery wouldn't work)
New power port
New motherboard
Bios was updated to 1.2.10 before I started working on it.
How do I get it to charge the battery and get the CPU to full speed?

The only thing left is a bad charge circuit - a replacement mainboard will be required to fix that issue.
Only you can decide whether it's worth replacing, but compare the cost of a complete system to the cost of a board -- it likely won't be any more expensive and you can probably replace the system with one that's newer for what a board will cost.

Assuming there was some sort of warranty on the parts, it's time to start swapping -- it may be useful to verify that another Dell system recognizes the AC adapter first. Does the system identify the power rating of the adapter or show it as unknown (F2 at powerup to check)?

@ejn63 It's a brand new ac adapter. It came directly from Dell yesterday.
It still says unknown. F2 in the bios and on the diagnostics, through F12.

If the adapter is new, is the DC jack new and OEM (or it it third party)?

I would replace that with an OEM part.

Did you replace the cmos battery?
once you replaced the dc port, disconnect power, remove both batteries, press and hold the power button for 10s.
insert batteries, connect power adapter, LET IT CHARGE till full BEFORE powering on.

@Muppets_Waldorf Thank you for your response. Where is the CMOS battery? I've been looking for it for quite a while now.

@Bounty2k3
make sure to disconnect power, remove lipo, then press & hold power button for 2s, just to discharge it.
