Dell 3525 hinge issue

I have TWO of these laptops. In November 2024 the hinges locked up and the plastic lid cracked when I opened the laptop. I found replacement parts and tried to fix the problem myself. I ended needing professional help. I pulled the SSD drive while it was being worked on and bought the same exact same laptop. Just last week I have had the same cracking plastic lid problem with the new laptop. (The problem is NOT how I open the laptop). Google's AI tells me this is a widely reported design flaw. Both these laptops are out of warranty. Does Dell own up to this being a design issue and is there any remedy ? Thank you.
