Cursor Shaking After BIOS Update – Dell Inspiron 7430 2-in-1

Hello,

I've been using my Dell Inspiron 7430 2-in-1 for almost a year with no cursor issues. However, after updating to the latest BIOS version (March, 2025), I started experiencing intermittent cursor shaking.

The shaking happens even when I'm not interacting with the touchpad or keyboard. At times, the cursor behaves normally, but then it suddenly starts shaking again without any input.

I’ve ensured all my drivers are up to date using Dell Update and Device Manager. Interestingly, when I disable the touchpad and use an external mouse instead, the cursor becomes completely stable.

Has anyone else experienced this issue after a BIOS update? Any suggestions or possible fixes would be appreciated. (can't roll back to previous BIOS)

Thanks in advance.

Hello!

The intermittent cursor shaking on your Dell Inspiron 7430 2-in-1 after the March 2025 BIOS update, which disappears with an external mouse, likely indicates a compatibility issue between the new BIOS and the touchpad firmware/driver. Try checking Dell support forums for similar reports, looking for a separate touchpad firmware update on the Dell support website, experimenting with touchpad settings, running Dell diagnostics, and performing a clean reinstallation of the latest touchpad driver. Since BIOS rollback isn't an option, reporting this issue directly to Dell support is crucial for a potential fix.
