Cursor Keeps Freezing

I have a Dell Inspiron 14 7405 laptop. I rarely shut it down and usually just close the lid and put it to sleep. Almost daily when I open it the cursor is froze, or it will freeze when I'm in the middle of doing something. Its already happened twice today. None of the F keys do anything, and I have to do a hard shut down by holding in the power button and rebooting. Its really frustrating. This has been doing this for probably a year now and I cant find any useful solutions.

Its running Windows 11 and is updated. It wont let me go back to a previous version of windows, as it seems this started with the 11 upgrade. I've done all the troubleshooting and it never finds any issues. All the drivers are up to date. The device manager tells me all of the best drivers are already installed.

Does anyone have an actual solution?

Well I will suggest you to try the following:

  • Turn Off USB Selective Suspend + Touchpad Power Saving
  • Disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
  • Manually Reinstall Touchpad Driver
  • Check BIOS Settings
  • Run System File Checker
