Chrome Not Working
Hi, I’m using a Dell laptop, and recently Google Chrome stopped working properly. Every time I try to visit any site, it shows: “This site can’t be reached.” Other browsers like Edge work fine, and my internet connection is stable. I’ve tried restarting the laptop and reinstalling Chrome, but the issue persists. Any help would be appreciated—thanks!

I’m not sure what the issue is—I'm really confused. Chrome was working fine a few days ago, but suddenly it started showing this error, which is really frustrating. I usually use Chrome to download coloring pages for my kids, but now I have to use other browsers. I was able to visit this site (https://blueycoloringpages.com/) just a few days ago, but now it doesn’t open in Chrome at all. I’m using Firefox out of necessity (majburi), but I’d prefer to use Chrome if possible. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi jacksparrow90:
What is your Windows operating system [if Win 10 or 11 open a Run dialog box (Windows key + R) and enter winver to find the version and OS build number] and antivirus, and what version of Chrome are you currently using?
Try the solutions suggested in the 10-Jan-2025 kinsta.com article How to Fix the “This Site Can’t Be Reached” Error (5 Ways). Since you can connect to your problem website(s) with Firefox and MS Edge I would skip suggestions # 1, 2 and 5 and just try:
If that doesn't help there could be a problem with one of the browser extensions you use in Chrome (e.g., uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, etc.). Enter chrome://extensions/ in your Chrome address bar to view your installed extensions, turn every extension off, and close and re-open your Chrome browser. If that allows you browse to your problem website(s) then start turning your browser extensions back on one at a time and re-test until you find the problem browser extension.

Since other browsers work fine, it might be a DNS or firewall issue with Chrome. Go to Chrome Settings > Reset and clean up > Restore settings to their original defaults.
